The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Ajman University Welcomes the Class of 2027

Initiating new students into the challenging but highly rewarding journey of pharmaceutical learning, the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Ajman University (AU) held its annual white coat ceremony on October 21, 2022. Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of AU; Dr. Khaled Assaleh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs; Dr. Nageeb Hassan, Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, faculty members, administrative staff, students and their families attended the ceremony.

The event kicked off with a speech by Chancellor Seghir welcoming the students to AU, which recently made a remarkable jump in the QS Arab Region Rankings, moving up three places from last year’s results, and ranking #27 overall.

The Chancellor emphasized the quality and rigor of the College of Pharmacy's programs as well as its global accreditations including the International Certification by the US-based Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). Additionally, he expressed his pride in the college's outstanding facilities and state-of-the-art labs.

Dr. Nageeb, for his part, thanked the new students for choosing AU to complete their undergraduate degrees and for their confidence in the institution. The meanings associated with the white coat ceremony and the symbolism it reflects will remain with the student for many years after graduation, Dr. Nageeb said.

Following the remarks, the Class of 2027 students were each called to the stage where Chancellor Seghir clad them in white coats. Before leaving the stage, each student took a picture with the Chancellor. At the end of the ceremony, students recited the pharmacy students’ oath, pledging to achieve excellence in Pharmacy and Healthcare in order to serve the society to the best of their abilities.
