Ajman University Students Felicitated for Participating in SAP Terminology Modernization Project

Ajman University (AU), in cooperation with SAP, the global technology company, have recognized the achievements of seven undergraduate students at AU, who completed the SAP Terminology Modernization Program, through a ceremony in the College of Engineering and IT.

The project which commenced in March 2022 and concluded on 16 September 2022, was aimed at allowing students to gain a deeper understanding of how business functions coordinate or integrate and develop a firmer grasp of integrated business processes. This exposure, experience and education give AU students a competitive workplace advantage while giving employers access to well-prepared graduates, skilled in the latest concepts and tools.

Certified students majoring in Information Technology (IT) and Information Systems (IS) participated in this project. The project had two supervisors; an external supervisor, Eng. Abdallah El Sahhar, Quality Engineer/Language Expert from SAP Corporation, and an internal supervisor, Dr. Elfadil Abdalla, Information Systems Program Coordinator, College of Engineering and IT at AU. The main role of the external supervisor, Eng. Abdallah El Sahhar was to train the students in the translation of SAP English terminologies to Arabic ones. The internal supervisor coordinated the communication between the external supervisor and the IT department at the College of Engineering, to resolve any issues raised by the students and the external supervisor.

Students who participated in this project were headed by Miss Asmaa Ismael Maree, the IT/Networking and Security student who helped in organizing the meetings between the external supervisor and the students and in assigning the tasks accordingly.

Dr. Elfadil Abdalla, Information Systems Program Coordinator, College of Engineering and IT, said: “We value the SAP project as it facilitates a deeper understanding of terminologies, efficient team-work and cooperation as well as the application of new technologies. It represents a strong commitment to the global community, allowing students to contribute with their work and knowledge to the community needs.”
