AU Trains School Students on CPR

Ajman University (AU), as part of its social responsibility, has started training school students nationwide on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

The promising initiative, to feature several workshops all year round, is organized by the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in collaboration with the AU Office of Student Recruitment and Unit of Community Service.

A group of students from the Indian International School were hosted in the first workshop assumed by Ms. Alaa Al Ameri from the AU College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

The high school students were trained on the right way to handle pulmonary obstruction, followed by a practical training on cardiopulmonary resuscitation using smart toys as per the relevant international recommendations.

The drive is aimed to raise and spread community awareness about the CPR skills by training as many high school students as possible.

This will also help increase the chances of survival for emergency cases if CPR-assisted before the arrival of the ambulance or before being shifted to the hospital for medical care.

The students were presented with certificates of participation from the Continuing Education Center at Ajman University.
