AU Develops Students, Faculty Self-Awareness, Reconciliation

The Unit of Community Service, Ajman University, in a bid to develop students and faculty’s self-awareness and reconciliation, has organized a workshop themed: ‘Know Yourself’

The function, presented by Mr. Abdullah El Shazly, a Certified Development Coach, was aimed to help students identify themselves in proper and independent way.

“Students need to be fully aware of themselves and their own skills without being subjugated by their own perceptions or others’ assessment,” he said, adding that the students present were also trained on the right techniques for self-development and self-reconciliation.

“Students need to resolve and understand things through their own personal lens without any external or internal impact.”

Further in his training session, the coach, who is also an Expert in Life Relations and Skills, underlined the crucial effect of subconscious mind in one’s life and reactions.

“We all need to clearly define our objectives and plan for the future as per deliberate and accurate steps to turn ambitions into realities and be successful.”

However, this may only be done via firm will, good planning, and right steps “so that one can be sure about best results.”

The workshop focused on promoting positive behavior, self-satisfaction, happiness and overcoming the obstacles one may face in life, he elaborated.

“The audience was engaged on some interactive exercises that have had a great impact on them.”

“They were trained on the right way to control various feelings, including anger, pain and joy, understanding, responsibility, love and appreciation, and tolerance.”

The four-hour session, attended by AU students, graduates and staff who interacted ardently, featured several interactive activities and meditation sessions.

Mr.  El Shazly finally later enlightened the audience on the right way to get ready for the holy month of Ramadan.

“It is a golden opportunity to assess your behavior, program your subconscious mind on positive thoughts, and get rid of negative habits.”

“Let it be your first step for a new lifestyle based on physical and psychological health, self-confidence, and getting closer to Almighty Allah.”
