Ajman University Delighted by Mishal Kanoo

As part of a series of distinguished lectures by the Chancellor of Ajman University,  Ajman University hosted Mr. Mishal Kanoo, Chairman of the Kanoo Group, to talk about the region's readiness for the digital transformation.

The meeting began with a speech by Dr. Karim Seghir, University Chancellor, in which he talked about the dramatic change in human life due to the digital transformation, which has had a great impact on the way they live, learn and earn their livelihood. More than 2.8 billion Internet users, access and share information through the World Wide Web. Dr. Karim pointed out  that people, in different types, communicate online for educational, economic, social and technical reasons. He mentioned that the indicators show that around 26-30 billion devices will be dependent on Internet things by 2020.

Mr. Kanoo spoke about the positive and negative effects of modern technology in our lives and called for the need to be aware of how to benefit from the technological revolution in various fields and the importance of keeping abreast of technological developments to prepare the region for the global digital transformation.

He reviewed various comparisons between the growth and development of international companies and their local counterparts and their strengths and weaknesses, the competition witnessed by these companies, the importance of cooperation among them, and the impact of this cooperation on the nature of the services it provides to different segments of society.
