Ajman University Launches Master of Arts in Arabic Language and Literature

Ajman University has announced that it has received the approval of the Academic Accreditation Commission at the Ministry of Education to launch the Master of Arts in "Arabic Language and Literature" program. This adds to the bouquet of programs offered by the College of Education and Basic Sciences at the University. This also marks the milestone of being the first masters of its kind in the Emirates of Ajman.
Dr. Khalid Al Saleh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, said that Ajman University's launch of the program was based on the priority and emphasis of UAE on Arabic language as a tool for promoting national identity. It is the strong link of generations and reflects the directives of the wise leadership. UAE has launched numerous initiatives to protect the Arabic language, as well as the development of curricula, teaching methods and teacher training all focused on towards its flourishment. These initiatives also encourage schools and universities in the UAE to take care of the mother tongue, thus enhancing the vision of the UAE 2021 to make the state a center of excellence in Arabic.
The registration in the Master's program in Arabic language and literature will begin early next month, and the studies will commence in the First Semester of the academic year 2018-2019.

Dr. Sheikh Ould Hamoud, Dean of the College of Education and Basic Sciences, said that the program aims to enhance the career options for the bachelor holder and improve the working members’ cognitive and linguistic abilities, develop their command on Arabic language aesthetics and practice scientific research skills. It also aims to connect students to the curriculum and activities parallel to the educational process, to achieve the intellectual integration of language adopted by this program.
Dr. Ould Hammoud explained that the Master of Arabic Language and Literature program offers two majors and the program will be offered on the weekend hence making it appealing and easy for the working individuals.
