Ajman University Explores Avenues of Cooperation in Saudi Arabia

As part of Ajman University’s strategic goal of forging and fostering its ties with partners across the Middle East and around the globe, a delegation headed by Dr. Karim Seghir, AU Chancellor visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The tour included visits to prominent educational institutions and meeting with related entities. AU delegation met with management and members of King Abdul Aziz University. Dr. Karim Seghir, AU Chancellor and Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Youbi, Director of King Abdul Aziz University signed a Memorandums of Understanding to facilitate mutual cooperation in student and faculty exchange. The agreement was signed in the presence of Dr. Abdul Haq Al Nuaimi, Vice-Chancellor for Advancement and Communication at AU. The agreement also promotes cooperation in joint applied researches to serve the strategic goals of the universities.

AU delegation met with Ajman University Saudi Alumni chapter. Dr. Karim Seghir expressed pride in their achievements and interacted with the male and female alumni who gathered at an informal event at the hotel arranged by AU. Chancellor encouraged them to achieve their goals and keep in touch with their alma mater. He informed them about the latest developments in AU, wherein a new College of Medicine will soon be launched.

Dr. Karim signed another MoU with His Excellency Khalid Al Makaran, Chairman, Majmaah University. This agreement brings the two universities closer in terms of cooperating on mutually beneficial avenues through joint-cooperation’s on student, faculty and researches. AU delegation was given a tour of the campus and facilities at Majmaah University. They also toured the renowned astronomy observatory and the projects undertaken by students. Chancellor Seghir presented the AU achievements and initiatives over the last 30 years to the board members of the University.

AU delegation also visited the Ministry of Education and King Saud University, they exchanged views on enhancing cooperation between the institutions to promote higher education across the GCC.

Mr. Fahad Al Karim, Editor at Al Riyadh Newspaper interviewed Dr. Karim Seghir regarding his visit to Saudi Arabia and the current higher education scenario. They also discussed the relationship between the two countries which facilities and benefits the students immensely.

Dr. Karim Seghir ascertained that the two countries has strong rooted ties that will manifest into a stronger for students and alumni, who have been contributing to the labour market. The agreements and visit promotes the AU’s vision of its presence of the global map of higher education.
