UAE Vice-President Honors AU Alumni

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has conferred on an alumni of  Ajman University one of the highest accolades of public service in the UAE, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Government Excellence Award. Halima Al Matroushi, a graduate of Ajman University, Fujairah Campus who is a currently affiliated with Fujairah Police , was among the winners of the 4th Government Excellence Awards, honored at a special ceremony attended by H. H. the Vice President. It was held at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

The award is conferred upon public sector employees for their distinctive performance at the workplace and their best practice initiatives. A worthy recipient of this honor, Halima al Matroushi had clearly shown her potential for excellence even as a student at Ajman University, Fujairah Campus, where she graduated from the College of Mass Communication & Humanities in 2014 with “Excellent with Honors”. It is a testimony to her dedication and perseverance that during her university career she had managed to combine the roles of student, public employee, homemaker and mother all at the same time.

As one of the most distinguished alumni, Halima Al Matroushi continues to maintain strong ties with her alma mater. She also co-presented a public lecture given by Fujairah Police Department to promote road safety awareness at Fujairah Campus, AU.

On a related topic, another three of Ajman University distinguished alumni had earlier been appointed to the Emirates Youth Council as representatives of the Emirates of Fujairah. The trio – Jabir Ahmed Al Zuudi, College of Mass Communication and Humanities, Sultan Al Sharif, College of Dentistry and Hissa Al Shara, College of Law – are also recent graduates of Ajman University, Fujairah Campus.
