Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Ajman, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ajman University, an International Scientific Conference "Digital Communication in The Era of Social Transformations: Responsibilities, Possibilities and Challenges", will be organized by the College of Mass Communication and Humanities, Ajman University.
It will be held on 16 and 17 April 2017 at the Sheikh Zayed Centre for Conferences and Exhibitions on AU campus. The conference embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, and the practical application of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, which aims to make the Ajman University, a center of scientific research and expertise with all its distinguished scientific achievement.
The conference is part of a new strategy adopted by AU led by Chancellor Karim Seghir which aims to improve the system of scientific research in the university and enhance the social responsibility of being a leader in the field of higher education in the country and the world.
The conference will host, Professor Donald Shaw, a professor of journalism at the School of Media at the University of North Carolina. Dr. Daniel Coombs, Dean of the College of Communication and Media at the University of Kent, as keynote speakers.
The conference includes a round - table discussion on the subject of "shift towards intelligent media in the UAE and enhance the elements of innovation", which will witness representation from a number of government entities along with the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research, and the National Authority for crisis management.
Along with a number of media organizations , including Dubai Media Incorporated, Radio Four, Sharjah Radio. The discussion covers the following topics: smart media and the culture of innovation, intelligent media and achieve the demand of institutional excellence, and the experiences of a pioneer in the employment of intelligent media and its applications within the UAE.
