Ambassadors of Giving - Ajman delegation concludes visit to Zanzibar

A delegation of the Ambassadors of Giving, made up of representatives from the Year of Giving Committee in Ajman, has concluded its visit to Tanzania, to provide humanitarian aid to local students of a school in Zanzibar, in cooperation with Ajman University and Ajman Academy, and as part of the Ambassadors of Giving Initiative.

Dr. Saeed Saif Al Matrooshi, Secretary-General of the Ajman Executive Council and Member of the Supreme Committee of the Year of Giving, said that the initiative was organised under the patronage and monitoring of H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Ajman Executive Council, while adding that it reflected the UAE’s local and international humanitarian role and was an opportunity to convey a message of giving from the Emirati people to the people of the world.

Mariam Al Mansouri, Head of Community Responsibility at the Ajman Year of Giving Committee, said that the Ambassadors of Giving Initiative is in line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, to assist all vulnerable people.

Al Mansouri praised the cooperation between many institutions and local authorities in Ajman to ensure the success of the initiative, which aimed to support students from the Creative Education Foundation in Zanzibar and had a considerable impact on their morale, as well as on the school’s administrative staff.

The Ambassadors of Giving delegation praised the initiative, which is a result of the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his memory in the hearts of all those who knew him from around the world. They also thanked all those who contributed to the success of the three-day visit, which included a tour of the Creative Education Foundation and many other events and local programmes. Ajman Academy also distributed 60 smart devices, with educational applications in both Arabic and English, to the students while Ajman University provided free dental examinations during the visit.

The visit also included many educational and cultural shows, to introduce the local students to the UAE’s culture, as well as other activities to promote social connections, such as the planting of indigenous trees from the UAE by the delegation and the students.
