In the framework of integrating and promoting cooperation between the University and the local community, Ajman University of Science & Technology, Fujairah Campus organized the National Voluntary Emergency response program “SANID”.
80 students from various colleges participated in the course aimed at training students and equipping them to be an active community volunteer in the UAE, during times of crisis or national emergencies.
The course included several topics: goal of the program, its objectives, defining leadership roles and working as a team. The students’ high sense of responsibility and a desire to learn and practice was highly commendable. Their volunteering spirit was heartwarming and the sense of service to humanity was evident during the course.
The National initiative SANID supports the community and social welfare of the country by providing comprehensive training to volunteers in responding and preparing in times of crisis. The five day training course covered vital areas of survival and special exercises to salvage and rescue people from simulated disasters. Dr. Ali Abu Noor, Director Fujairah Campus expressed that the students keen interest in community initiatives is further promoted by such trainings and events.
