H.H. Ruler of Ajman Sends Appreciations to Kuwait Ministry of Education and Higher Education for Trust and Cooperation

His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, dispatched a delegation from Ajman University of Science and Technology (AUST) to convey His Highness’s thanks and heartfelt acknowledgments to Dr. Nayef Falah Al-Hajraf, Kuwait’s Minister of Higher Education, for his ministry’s constant support to the university throughout its 25 years of development and success.

The delegation comprised of  Mr. Osama Salman, the University Vice President and CEO, Dr. Ahmed Ankit, Assistant to the University President for External Relations and Mr. Abdullah Salman, Assistant to the University Vice President. The meeting was attended by Dr. Rashed Al-Nowihedh, Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Higher Education.

 The visiting delegates relayed H.H. Ajman Ruler’s satisfaction with the level of cooperation between the UAE, under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and Kuwait, under the sensible leadership of His Highness Sheikh Jaber III al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait. In his message to the Kuwaiti Minister, H.H. Sheikh Al Nuaimi stressed that Kuwaiti students are in safe hands and are considered at home in Ajman, and commended that the Cultural Office of the Consulate General of the State of Kuwait in Dubai is taking care of Kuwaiti students and cooperating with Ajman University by placing Kuwaiti students in quality programs and preparing them to meet the needs of economic and social development of their home country and the GCC.

The deputation also presented the significant events and achievements that marked AUST’s 25 years and allowed it to become a beacon of knowledge in the region, benefiting  students in two campuses, Ajman and Fujairah, and boasting over 26000 graduates in various fields offered by AUST.

On his part, the Kuwaiti Minister asked the delegation to convey his salutations and respect to His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashed Al Nuaimi for the wise initiative of establishing a university that caters to the needs of the region. He affirmed the Kuwait Ministry’s deep trust in Ajman University of Science and Technology because of the patronage of His Highness the Ruler of Ajman.

Following this visit the delegation held a series of meetings with the ministry’s senior officials. The first meeting was with Dr. Muthana Alrifai, Deputy General Director for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance who pointed out that the GCC Ministries of Higher Education are working towards unifying the accreditation standards. The delegation also met with Mrs Meyassara J. Al-Falah, Undersecretary Assistant of Scholarships, Equivalency and Cultural Relations and her team and discussed the academic programs required by Kuwait. Then the delegation met with Prof. Hussein Al-Khaiat, Dean of the College of Engineering and Petroleum, University of Kuwait, to discuss the majors needed in Kuwait. Prof. Al-Khaiat said that Kuwait is in need of engineers to contribute to the unprecedented development witnessed by the country.
