A Delegation from Kuwait Visits AUST

Ajman University of Science and Technology has recently received a delegation from the Kuwait Ministry of Higher Education, which paid a visit to AUST College of Pharmacy and Health sciences. The aim of the visit, which took place as the number of AUST's Kuwaiti students is on the rise, was to see and assess firsthand Ajman University in general and the College of Pharmacy in particular.

The visiting delegation met with AUST vice-presidents, and the dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Dr. Abdulmawla Rajab as well as the College heads of department. The visit program was coordinated with Dr. Yassin Saleh, the cultural attache of the State of Kuwait in the UAE.

During the visit, Dr. Ahmed Ankit, Vice-President for External Relations and Cultural Affairs welcomed the delegation, and briefed them about AUST history and development. He was followed by Dr. Basheer Shehadeh, Vice-President for Follow up and Development, who introduced the steps and procedures taken by AUST colleges to obtain accreditation from the Commission of Academic Accreditation at the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The delegation expressed their appreciation for the excellent standards of the UAE ministry of higher education, calling for closer communication channels with Kuwait's peer ministry.

Later the delegation; made of a representative from the Kuwait ministry of health and one from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Kuwait, were presented with all the documents and curricula of the College. They were also briefed about the number of graduates, the percentage of Kuwaiti students, and the number of students who went abroad to pursue their graduate studies. The delegation then was invited to tour the college's laboratories and facilities.

In the end, the Kuwaiti delegation invited Dr. Abdulmawla Rajab to pay a visit to the Faculty of Pharmacy in the University of Kuwait, whishing that their visit would help consolidate cooperation between the two colleges and universities.
