AUST Engineering Students Visit Munich

Eight women students from the College of Engineering in the Department of Architectural Engineering at Ajman University of Science and Technology (AUST) have visited Munich, Germany, to attend a workshop on the theme of  Luxury Living.

The workshop was held at the Institute of Housing Economics at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) from October 31 - November 07, 2008, and was also attended by 12 TUM students. The trip was part of a cultural exchange program between Germany and the UAE. Accompanying the students were faculty members Michael Schwarz, workshop organizer and Coordinator of AUST International Academic Relations for Europe and China, and Ms. Sahar Makky.

The workshop examined topics connected with the multicultural aspect of Munich, a city visited each year by large numbers of people from GCC countries. Proposals developed by the students were presented to a jury, which included TUM faculty members and guests, who were particularly impressed by the work of the AUST participants. At the conclusion of the workshop, each student received a certificate of appreciation from Professor Institute Chair Peter Ebner.
