Among 55 Universities and the competing against more than 300 scientific researchers, The College of Mass Communication at Ajman University won the First and Second Places in the Ninth Edition of the annual scientific research competition organized by Abu Dhabi University for media students at universities in the Middle East and the Arab Gulf region, in the category of scientific research for Media and Public Relations.
The student “Ola Ismail” won first place for her research, which investigates the interactive advertisements in mobile games, through analytical and field studies aimed to analyze the advertisements’ forms, types, design, and preparation, besides monitoring the public’s opinions and attitudes towards them. Student “Abdul Rahman Jaradat” also won Second Place for his research which investigates the values and ideas in animated films and their effects on Arab adolescents and youth, through an analytical study of the films’ content, and a field study on a sample of viewers. The two winning research papers were supervised by Prof. Maha Abdel-Mageed, a Faculty Staff Member at the College and the Supervisor of the “Scientific Research Methods” course.
This participation comes in line with the College's keenness to discover the scientific minds of its students, encourage them to conduct scientific research, develop their research skills, and encourage them to participate in scientific events and activities. It is also worth noting that the College has an honorable record in scientific research awards, starting with winning first place in the scientific research competition of the Gulf Cooperation Council in 2017, which was organized by Abu Dhabi University, and then winning second place in the scientific research competition organized by Dubai Press Club in 2018 at the state level.
