Dr. Shafiz Affendi Mohd Yusof obtained his Ph.D. in Information Science and Technology, MPhil in Information Transfer, and MS in Telecommunications and Network Management from Syracuse University's School of Information Studies in the United States. He is currently an Associate Professor of Information Systems in the Department of Information Technology, College of Engineering and IT, Ajman University. He is currently a member of the Artificial Intelligence Research Center (AIRC). Prior to joining Ajman University, he served as the Program Director for the Master of Information Technology Management and the Bachelor of IT (MIS) at the University of Wollongong in Dubai. Dr Shafiz has also held various roles in Malaysia, including Deputy Director of the Cooperative and Entrepreneurship Development Institute (CEDI) and Director of International Telecommunication Union - Universiti Utara Malaysia Asia Pacific Centre of Excellence (ITU-UUM ASP CoE) for Rural Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Development. He has published over 100 publications encompassing journal articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings. His research and publications have focused on the social impact of information technology, including topics such as online gaming, information behavior, virtual communities, e-government, teleworking, community networks, rural ICT, and green IT.
