Dr. Shafiz Affendi Mohd Yusof holds a Ph.D. in Information Science and Technology, an MPhil in Information Transfer, and an MS in Telecommunications and Network Management, all from Syracuse University's School of Information Studies in the United States. He is currently an Associate Professor of Information Systems in the Department of Information Technology at the College of Engineering and IT, Ajman University, and a member of the Artificial Intelligence Research Center (AIRC). Before joining Ajman University, Dr. Shafiz served as the Program Director for the Master of Information Technology Management and the Bachelor of IT (MIS) programs at the University of Wollongong in Dubai. He has also held key positions in Malaysia, including Deputy Director of the Cooperative and Entrepreneurship Development Institute (CEDI) and Director of the International Telecommunication Union - Universiti Utara Malaysia Asia Pacific Centre of Excellence (ITU-UUM ASP CoE) for Rural Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Development. Dr. Shafiz has published over 100 works, including journal articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings. His research primarily focuses on the social impact of information technology, with specific interest in areas such as online gaming, information behavior, virtual communities, e-government, teleworking, community networks, rural ICT, and green IT.
