Dr. Mohamed Deriche earned his Engineer’s degree from the National Polytechnic School of Algeria, followed by M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Minnesota, USA. He began his academic career at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia, in 1994. In 2001, he joined King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia, where he led the Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Group. Since 2021, he has been serving as a Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Ajman University, UAE. Dr. Deriche has published over 300 papers in various areas of signal and image processing and has received numerous awards for his contributions. He has supervised more than 40 graduate theses and his research interests span multimedia signal and image processing, as well as applications of AI and machine learning.
