The Office of Community Engagement at Ajman University marked the International Day of Happiness, observed annually on March 20th, with a range of activities and events designed for diverse groups, both on and off campus. The objective was to foster and strengthen a culture of happiness and positivity, embedding it as a core aspect of life.
The inaugural initiative began with "Happiness Mail," during which participants composed messages intended for recipients eager to receive them, using postcards provided by Emirates Post. Afterwards, participants placed the postcards into the designated Emirates Post mailbox for distribution at a later date.
Additionally, a visit was organized to Sheikh Khalifa Hospital in Ajman, aimed at bringing joy and delight to the children. During the visit, volunteers distributed gifts and toys to the children, aiming to boost their psychological well-being and motivate them to continue their treatment journey.
In collaboration with the Al Ihsan Charity Association, the Office of Community Engagement launched the " Kiswat Al Eid," held at City Centre Ajman. Volunteers assisted children in selecting Eid clothes by providing shopping vouchers worth 200 AED for each child.
These activities demonstrate the spirit of volunteering and social responsibility promoted by the Office of Community Engagement for all parts of society. The total number of volunteers involved was over 60 volunteers, benefiting more than 1100 individuals. The total volunteer hours accumulated during these events exceeded 250 hours.
