The Athletics Unit at the Office of Student Life organized an orientation session for new students to guide them on the importance of participating in sports activities that contribute to improving their physical fitness and create opportunities for interaction and communication with their peers.
Ms. Asma Al Shamsi, Manager of the Athletics Unit, led the session by introducing students to the unit’s diverse activities and the state-of-the-art facilities available within the sports complex. She provided a comprehensive overview on how to utilize these facilities effectively and stressed the crucial role of sports in enriching their university experience while developing both athletic and social skills.
A variety of sports competitions were organized to encourage active participation among the new students and foster team spirit, which helps them integrate more quickly with their peers and enhances their interaction with different sports activities. The competitions included challenges such as tug-of-war, basketball, table tennis, badminton, and running, offering students with an enjoyable experience.
