Ajman University’s Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, Prof. Khaled Assaleh was a guest speaker at the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) MENA Reputation Forum held in Al Ain, UAE on February 13, 2024. The inaugural THE MENA Reputation Forum brought together thought-leaders from across the MENA region and beyond to discuss the importance of building and maintaining institutional reputation within a global context.
Prof. Assaleh was invited to be a speaker in a panel discussion entitled ‘Institutional Case Studies on Building and Maintaining Reputation.’ He shared his views on how Ajman University has gained a solid reputation for being a leading global and regional university.
Prof. Assaleh emphasized the noteworthy accomplishments of Ajman University in recent years, specifically highlighting achievements in research and internationalization. He also provided insights into the strategies that institutions can employ to establish and uphold their reputation from the foundation onwards.
The session was moderated by Mr. Mark Sudbury, Head of Reputation, Times Higher Education with speakers representing Al Maarefa University, Herriot Watt University and Lebanese American University alongside Prof. Assaleh. “The Forum offered an excellent opportunity to connect with colleagues from both local and international institutions, facilitating the exchange of valuable information related to academic reputation, collaboration, and ranking. Kudos to ADU and THE for their outstanding organization of the event.”
Prof. Assaleh has more than three decades of academic and industrial experience including 15 years in leadership positions and is a prolific researcher and scholar with 11 US patents and more than 150 refereed articles in signal/image processing and artificial intelligence that have received more than 4800 citations.
