The Athletics Unit at the Office of Student Life hosted matches between male and female athletes of the Special Olympics UAE at the Sports Complex. The event, held under the slogan "Sports Gathering", aimed to enhance the sporting spirit and foster social interaction among students and athletes.
The highlight of the event included women's basketball matches in the multipurpose hall within the Ajman University Sports Complex, where six teams showcased their skills and sportsmanship. Additionally, the football field witnessed seven-a-side football matches for men, with six teams passionately competing for victory. The day concluded with the honouring of the winning teams, infusing an atmosphere of joy and achievement.
Ms. Asma Al Shamsi, Manager of the Athletics Unit, emphasized the event's alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to good health and well-being. She highlighted the importance of involving athletes of determination in sports to boost their confidence, develop their physical and social skills, and showcase their talents.
