The Office of Community Engagement in collaboration with the university library, organized engaging storytelling sessions at Al Ahlia Charity School to celebrate the International Day of Education. Thirteen volunteers participated, narrating stories to children to encourage a love for learning and reading. Additionally, 300 books were distributed to students, recorded a remarkable total of 39 volunteer hours.
Shadi Abu Khaled, Director of the Office of Community Engagement, emphasized the importance of education, stating, “Education, a primary goal in the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, serves as the cornerstone for building a sustainable society. This event underscores the significance of storytelling in fostering a love for reading among children. Education is not only a renewable resource but also a fundamental human right. We emphasize collaboration to promote education, aiming to empower a generation ready to become leaders in their societies. Effective participation in such activities fosters community engagement, builds team spirit, and enhances positive interaction among diverse community partners.”
