Outstanding Participation of Psychiatry Club Students at WPA Conference in Abu Dhabi

Students of the Psychiatry Club at Ajman University's Office of Student Life collaborated with AU College of Medicine to participate in the WPA Thematic Conference from May 5-7, 2023 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The conference featured discussions on various new developments related to "Innovations in Psychological and Social Rehabilitation and Therapy".

The conference provided great opportunities for the Psychiatry Club students to present scientific abstracts on psychological and social rehabilitation and therapy, and they also volunteered as a team to organize the conference's activities. The students also met with several leading psychiatrists such as Professor Afzal Javed, President of the World Psychiatric Association.

During the conference sessions, student Lujain Sami presented a work entitled "University Students' Perceptions Regarding the Accuracy of Images Displayed on the Screen for Mental Illnesses" and won the second place for best poster presentation.

In addition, student Khadija Yasser presented a research paper on "Attitudes Toward Mental Health in the United Arab Emirates" and was awarded a certificate of appreciation for her outstanding presentation efforts.
