Dr. Amr Nassr, Associate Professor at Department of Civil Engineering, Ajman University undertook a research visit to the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden from July 9-23, 2023. KTH is ranked #89 in QS World University Rankings and #44 in QS World University Ranking by Subject (Civil and Structural Engineering).
The visit was graciously hosted by Professor Raid Karoumi, Head of Division of Structural Engineering and Bridges at KTH. During his stay, Dr. Nassr had the privilege of touring both the Structural Engineering Lab and the Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) Lab at KTH.
Dr. Nassr also delivered a seminar on ‘Vibration Based Structural Health Monitoring System Using Internet of Things Technology’ during his visit. The seminar was followed by a highly enriching discussion that contributed to the exchange of innovative ideas.
Dr Nassr undertook a field trip to KTH bridge, which is real-time monitored by KTH SHM Lab. During this field excursion, Dr Nassr conducted a hammer excitation test and meticulously collected the associated data.
