His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, chaired the meeting of Ajman University’s Board of Trustees held at the University’s premises in the presence of Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi.
His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi extended a warm welcome to the members of the Board of Trustees, praising their efforts in promoting education and research across various academic disciplines. He also acknowledged the University's outstanding international accreditations, which reinforce its commitment to graduating highly educated generations.
During the meeting, His Highness highlighted the notable achievements and international accreditations earned by Ajman University in diverse fields, underscoring the institution's commitment to delivering quality education. The UAE Ministry of Education's Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) has recognized Ajman University as a High Confidence Institution, a prestigious status held by only eight universities in the UAE.

In addition, the Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching has been internationally accredited by the Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute (ACQUIN), further strengthening the University’s global academic reputation.
The Board of Trustees also approved the financial budget for the academic year 2023-2024, reflecting a 14% increase in operation and capital expenses, a 6% increase in scholarships and discounts, and a 14% increase in research funding. This allocation aims to fulfill the University's academic requirements, support expansion plans, develop infrastructure, and increase faculty members and administrative staff.
With a focus on fostering student success and preparing them for the job market, the budget for lab development has increased by 44%, aligning with Ajman University's vision and the 2022-2027 Strategic Plan. The budget also aims to enhance academic programs, research endeavors, attract students from around the world, and strengthen international collaborations.
In line with Ajman University's climate and sustainability strategy for 2022-2030, the budget for climate strategies has increased by 40% for the academic year 2023-2024, facilitating more events and fostering participation in COP 28.
His Highness expressed his appreciation for the University's top administration and staff for their contributions to research. The university published 379 research papers in Scopus, with a projected increase to 1150 by the end of 2023, showcasing remarkable progress of 29% compared to the previous year. Moreover, 87.3% of science indexed papers were published with international collaboration in 2023, up from 86.4% in 2022.
