The Unit of Athletics in the Office of Student Life at Ajman University (AU) organized a sports event to encourage the participation of people of determination in sports activities. The event titled "Heroes of Determination, Endless Ambition," aimed to showcase the athletic abilities of people of determination and present them as role models for others.
The event was held at the Ajman Club for the Disabled and included several activities, such as a short film highlighting determination and persistence, a speech by Captain Abdul Hamid Bakour, fitness exercises, and a Q&A segment.
Captain Bakour shared his story of how he trained the team at the Dubai Club for the Disabled for success in the Australian Olympics in 1994. He also shared the inspiring story of one of the most famous UAE champions, Captain Mohammed Khamis Khalaf who won over 30 gold, silver, and bronze medals across various tournaments. The speech also highlighted the UAE's keen interest in and appreciation for people of determination who have demonstrated sports achievements.
The event received enthusiastic response from more than 15 participants who attended the event. The participants had the opportunity to showcase their athletic abilities and inspire others. Gift bags were distributed to all the attendees as a token of appreciation.
