Ajman University’s Humanities and Social Sciences Research Center (HSSRC) launched in late 2021 completed a year of existence with several achievements to its credit, including various distinguished publications, events, awards, international collaborations, and scholar exchanges. HSSRC was established to research and propose solutions to important societal issues in the Emirati and global societies.
The Center aims to promote innovative research, develop new generations of social scientists, deepen how inquiry is practiced within and across disciplines and mobilize important knowledge on pressing community issues in the UAE and abroad. HSSRC's aim is to provide a distinct climate of comprehensive research opportunities, as well as attract world class researchers through partnerships and collaborations.
By conducting case and field studies on societal issues in the UAE, the center focusses on strengthening the research culture within the humanities and social sciences streams, in addition to educational and language studies. HSSRC also hosts conferences, training workshops, seminars, and lectures with a view to developing a deeper understanding of social issues in the UAE and abroad.
A detailed account of HSSRC’s activities in 2022 can be found in the first HSSRC newsletter which was published recently.
