Prof. Khaled Assaleh, Ajman University Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs participated in The Times Higher Education (THE) MENA Universities Summit held in Kuwait from November 28-30, 2022. Prof. Khaled was a speaker in the session titled ‘How has the digital revolution helped pave the way for lifelong learning in the MENA region,’ in which he shared interesting insights on the topic.
Reflecting on his participation at the Summit, Prof. Khaled said, “I had the pleasure of attending the TIMES HIGHER Education MENA Universities Summit - Transforming Learning for a Sustainable Future at AUM in Kuwait. It was an honour serving as a panellist in the session “In conversation: How has the digital revolution helped pave the way for lifelong learning in the MENA region?” with international experts from the USA, Jordan, Lebanon and Kuwait. The THE MENA Universities Summit 2022 focused on how universities can best collaborate with partners to identify and address skills gaps, as well as secure human resources for the future growth and development of the region. Higher education leaders and strategists, government and industry representatives convened to discuss how the economic and environmental challenges facing the MENA region are driving a need to transform tertiary education. Through case studies and thought leadership, opportunities were identified for universities to be at the heart of this profound educational transformation and how leaders can make positive reforms.
