Ajman University Organizes an Awareness Session Titled “Moving Towards a Sustainable Future: Exploring Strategies for Sustainable Mobility”

The Office of Sustainability at Ajman University, in collaboration with expert from the industry, organized an awareness session titled "Moving Towards a Sustainable Future: Exploring Strategies for Sustainable Mobility”. The session was presented by Dr. Rami Ashri, Ph.D Researcher and the Business Development Manager of eMobility in a multinational organization. This initiative is part of the United Arab Emirates' preparations to host the upcoming COP28 global conference on climate change.

The session featured a wide range of important topics related to sustainable mobility strategies, highlighting the vital role of individuals and organizations in achieving it and the challenges they might face, in addition to the opportunities that these strategies offer to communities and economies.

The discussion revolved around the development of sustainable mobility strategies and   the use of eco-friendly transportation methods such as electric vehicles and renewable energy sources, highlighting the role of technology and innovation in promoting sustainable mobility and progressing toward a sustainable future, presenting valuable insights on international case studies.

'Sustainable mobility is the key to the sustainability of our future and planet. We live in an era marked by escalating environmental challenges and significant climate change. Therefore, we must take immediate action to preserve our planet. In this context, sustainable mobility is not only a solution to environmental problems but also contributes to economic and social development, reducing carbon emissions and improving air and water quality, which leads to improving human health and quality of life. Moreover, sustainable mobility strategies can create new job opportunities and foster innovation and economic development. We must invest in modern and eco-friendly transportation technology such as electric vehicles and renewable energy sources.' Said Dr. Rami Ashri.

'Sustainable mobility and innovation are fundamental factors in the development of our societies. Instead of relying solely on traditional means of transportation that harm the environment and consume our natural resources, we need to think creatively and invest in research and technology for more fuel-efficient transportation methods that have less environmental impact. The integration of sustainable mobility and innovation can help us achieve the overall sustainable goals and guide us towards a more sustainable and prosperous future for present and future generations.' said Maya Haddad, Sustainability Manager at Ajman University.

At the end of the session, participants discussed and asked questions about how to achieve a more sustainable future through sustainable mobility, inspiring great ideas on how to apply these strategies in their personal and professional lives.
