The Counseling Unit at Ajman University organized a special event in celebration of World Mental Health Day. This event was part of the university's ongoing efforts to promote mental health and provide support to students. It featured four different workshops covering important topics, and a diverse range of activities.
Mr. Ali Aldarwish, Certified Cybersecurity Analyst and Trainer, presented the first workshop titled: "Cybersecurity and its Impact on Mental Health." The workshop highlighted the concept of cybersecurity to increase awareness of digital safety issues, and emphasis the importance of using strong passwords, in addition to the risks associated with cybersecurity, including phone scams and privacy issues.
Mr. Waleed Alasbahi, TV Presenter and Reporter presented another workshop titled: "Mental Health and its Relationship to Social Media," where he discussed the role of social media in our lives, and what to do about social media addiction.
The third workshop was presented by Prof. Marei Ahmed from the College of Humanities and Sciences, titled: "Be Positive in Your Academic Field,” which highlighted the effects of positive thinking on academic performance, and how to overcome challenges. In addition to achieving balance between academic and social life.
Dr. Ahmad Alzubi, from the College of Humanities and Sciences, presented his workshop titled: "Coping Styles with Stress," where he addressed topics related to stress and psychological pressure. It covered the causes of stress and psychological pressure, and its effects on the body, providing some effective stress management techniques such as deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation to relief stress and enhance psychological stability.
