As part of their final year project, 26 senior sociology students from Ajman University (AU) College of Humanities and Sciences presented their graduation projects. Students focused on the relevance of scientific research and the role of senior students in promoting social responsibility with a view at boosting the contribution of institutions in social responsibility initiatives across the Emirati society.
The goal of these graduation projects is to train and certify leaders for positions in a range of social and welfare institutions as well as in the field of developing and executing social welfare policies for students in their last year at AU. For the duration of the semester, students collaborated in groups under the direction of their academic advisors to finish and present their projects.
In their projects, students highlighted the role of government institutions in supporting social responsibility initiatives in the UAE society, the importance of social values in promoting social responsibility, the role of students in spreading awareness about social responsibility by placing it in the context of Ajman University students, and the role of the school social worker in developing social responsibility among secondary school students.
Prof. Shaher Momani, dean of the College of Humanities and Sciences, said of the students outstanding work, "It reflects not only their knowledge but also the soft skills that they acquired during their educational journey at AU, and I cannot wait to see their successes after graduation."
