AU’s Global Day 2022 Showcases Our Rich Cultural Diversity
Ajman University’s Global Day 2022 was a virtual showcase of diversity and intercultural exchange that makes it one of the most vibrant and exciting places to study in the UAE. Held virtually through the Zoom platform on 22nd February 2022, from 6PM to 9PM, the event featured more than 50 cultural clubs representing students from 30 different nationalities at AU.
Chancellor Dr. Karim Seghir set the tone of the event right from the beginning, with his inspiring and upbeat speech.
“Ajman University students, graduates and alumni are global achievers who are called upon to work across different regions of the world. Diversity and cultural sensitivity are some of the key values that AU inculcates in its students which makes them successful in diverse workplaces and cultures. I am proud of how well the students have showcased their different cultures, demonstrating at the same time a sense of unity and of being part of one big community at AU,” said Dr. Karim.
The speech was followed by a series of videos by various student clubs depicting the culture, landmarks and cuisines of countries as diverse as Saudi Arabia, United States, Korea, Japan, India and many others. The colourful videos, which demonstrated the creativity and ingenuity of AU students, virtually transported the audience to the featured countries, giving them a feel of the local culture, traditions, attire, cuisine and overall ethos.
The event ended on an exciting note with a competition that tested the global knowledge of the audience and winners were awarded attractive prizes.
