AU Students Learn How to Start a Small Business in Fine Arts

The Fine Arts Center in the Office of Student Life organized a workshop entitled ‘How to start your small business.’ It was attended by a number of students from The American Modern School in Ajman and Al Qasimia University in Sharjah, along with AU students. The aim of the workshop was to introduce students to the basic steps for starting their own small business in plastic art.

 During the workshop, Ms. Mona Al-Jabali, senior officer at the Fine Arts Center, gave a simplified explanation about how students can launch their own small projects in the plastic arts. Students were also trained on how to paint with oil colors on black velvet cloth, and other materials and tools necessary to own this technique.

The students also got acquainted with some art schools of thought, including the abstract school.

At the end of the workshop, students were allowed to create artistic works of their own in application of what they had learned during the workshop. These works were characterized by accuracy, beauty and creativity.
