Ajman University received a contribution of AED 300,000 from Dubai-based philanthropic organization, Al Maktoum Foundation. The contribution will serve towards helping needy students to continue their education at Ajman University. The cheque was handed over in a meeting attended by representatives of Al Maktoum Foundation at the Ajman University campus on February 3, 2022.
The visiting leaders included H.E Mr. Mirza Al Sayegh, Head of the Investment Affairs for the office of H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Member of the Board of Trustees of Al Maktoum Foundation; H.E Mr. Abduallah Al Mazrooi, Chairman of Thamer Fund; and Mr. Masoud Mohammed Saleh Haqiqi, Al Maktoum Foundation.
They were received by Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University; Dr. Abdulhaq Al Nuaimi, Vice Chancellor for Communications and Community Affairs, Ajman University; and Mrs. Laila Al Halabi, Office of finance, Ajman University.
This initiative is part of Ajman University’s continuous efforts at fostering inclusiveness and providing equal opportunities for underprivileged students to gain a world-class education by overcoming financial constraints.
Almost two thirds of AU students receive some form of scholarship or financial aid each year to reduce their financial burden. AU continues to strive to provide equal opportunities to all, regardless of economic status, disability or personal background.
