Ajman University’s Office of Student Life Organizes Workshop with Etisalat on Emerging Radio Technologies

The IT Club in the Office of Student Life at Ajman University organized a workshop entitled Inhouse Development of Open Radio Access Network Solutions on January 6, 2022, via the Zoom platform. Dr. Abdul Hadi Abu Al-Mal, Head of Technology Standardization & Spectrum Management at Etisalat and the chairman of several expert groups drawn from regional and international organizations was the guest speaker at the event.

The workshop was attended by a number of Etisalat employees, as well as university students and staff.

The workshop shed light on new trends related to the convergence of telecom and IT networks. Examples of network cloudification were also discussed. The workshop addressed the emerging topic of open-source development for open radio access network technologies.

The workshop witnessed useful interaction among the participants, which was reflected in a lengthy round of discussion and interventions among the attendees and the lecturers across a number of themes raised by the workshop.
