Ajman University has tied-up with Rutgers University to offer a dual degree program to AU students, enabling them to obtain a bachelor’s degree from AU and a master’s degree from Rutgers University in just five years. This option is limited to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree program, with the Electronics and Communication concentration.
Students who have been accepted by and enrolled at AU as undergraduate students will complete six semesters of the usual eight-semester Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering program at AU. If accepted into the Program, students will complete the coursework for their final winter (fall) and spring semester of study toward the AU Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree at Rutgers, while enrolled in the first year of study toward the Rutgers Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering degree.
Students need to be in good academic standing to be able to apply and be accepted for the 3+2 pathway at Rutgers University.
Work toward their graduation project shall be carried out by the students under the supervision of Ajman University during the summer term in their fourth year. Selected students will also have to complete their external training, as stipulated by AU policies.
The two institutions have independently established their own degree completion requirements for both the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree program at AU and the Master’ s degree program at Rutgers. Students participating in the program must satisfy all degree requirements of both institutions in order to successfully complete the pathway program and be awarded both credentials.
