Ajman University (AU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Al Maktoum Foundation to further enhance its support to underprivileged students who are unable to continue their education due to financial barriers. Under the MoU, Al Maktoum Foundation will provide financial assistance to augment the Thamer Fund at Ajman University.
The Chairman of Thamer Fund, H.E. This initiative aims at providing annual support to the Fund for three years. It recognizes the noble humanitarian objectives of the Fund and the University's forward-looking and unique vision of empowering students, enhancing their capacities, sharpening their skills and directing their energies towards building their communities and making a positive change in their surroundings.
"The provisions and objectives of this MoU reflect the great consensus between AU and the Foundation on the importance of supporting tomorrow’s leaders, and helping them achieve their goals and aspirations to enrich themselves and their country and make success happen", said Dr. Karim Seghir.
AU had launched the Thamer Fund Educational Solidarity in 2013, to assist university students to overcome the hurdles they face during their educational tenure. The fund opens its door to all students who meet the criteria for application. Since its establishment, the Fund has assisted 1298 students to ease their progress and ensure completion of their educational tenure at AU with a total amount of AED 13,135,660.
