Ajman University would like to congratulate our alumnus Omar Kaddourah’16 for being selected to join renowned London-based architecture firm, Zaha Hadid Architects. The late Zaha Hadid, the firm’s founder, is deemed to be one of the most prominent figures in the world of architecture and has multiple award-winning projects to her credit including London Aquatics Center, Maxxi Museum in Rome and the Guangzhou Opera House.
Omar is an architect and computational designer who completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture at Ajman University’s College of Architecture, Art & Design (CAAD) in 2016 with excellent grades. Omar started his career as a computational designer in NORR Architects in Dubai, where he took part in multiple international competitions of residential & mixed-use projects.
In 2017, Omar moved to London to pursue his master’s studies in the Architectural Association School of Architecture. He studied in the Patrik Schumacher Studio as part of the Design Research Lab (DRL), focusing on cutting edge software & computational design methods.
After his post-graduate studies, Omar joined tkdp as a Senior Designer where he worked on an award-winning master plan for a competition in China, and on mix-used built projects in Dubai.
Besides his experience in architectural practice, he is also giving back to academia by teaching in multiple universities across the UAE and London.
Omar is passionate about pushing the boundaries of architectural geometry. During his free time, he is often found researching on computational methods related to differential geometry processing, discrete computation, mesh topology, optimization, and digital fabrication.
