Ajman University (AU), to mark the World Statistics Day, falling on October 20 every year, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ajman Statistics and Competitiveness Center (ASCC).
The agreement, intended to conduct more scientific studies and research on social, environmental and economic issues, will help exchange knowledge, experiences and practices in community services, and provide scientific and technical consultations.
The MoU was signed virtually via Zoom program by Karim Seghir, Ph.D., AU Chancellor, and Dr. Hajar Saeed Al-Hubaishi, CEO of the Ajman Statistics and Competitiveness Center.
Dr. Seghir said Ajman University is keen on building strategic relationships with all community institutions as directed by His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ajman University.
“His Highness has always urged collaboration and integration among all entities in the emirate of Ajman to help achieve the emirate's strategic plans, and enhance its goals and objectives.”
Ajman university has entered into several partnerships for the benefit of its community members, he added. “Such cooperation helps exchange data, enhance technical capabilities, and achieve the goals, objectives, visions, policies, plans and strategic programs of both sides."
"We are proud to be the first university in the country to introduce a Bachelor of Science program in Data Analytics, which is designed to provide the labor market with qualified graduates in data science,” he said, noting that the program and this agreement reflect AU passion to keep pace with the information revolution.
Dr. Hajar Al Hubaishi said the MoU will help exchange experiences and data, enhance their technical capabilities, and achieve the goals, objectives, visions, policies, plans and strategic programs of both sides.
“The agreement will also give a boost to the Center’s "academic lens" initiative, which is meant to enhance studies and research on social, economic and environmental issues. It will also help study and analyze future career skills to set a balance between the educational outcomes and the needs of the labor market.”
