The Office of Community Engagement, dedicated to social responsibility as one of Ajman University (AU) core values, has organized an event to develop students’ awareness about mental disability.
The Office invited some of the determined children of Al Wafa School for Capacity Development - an affiliate of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS), to run an informative campaign on this impairment at the University.
The campaign, held on Monday February 17, 2020, saw 15 AU students who were so keen to volunteer, discuss and share experiences and knowledge about determined people, their issues and rights.
The program included a 30-minute awareness session and one-hour diverse activities, such as cooking, customizing mugs, making jewelry, singing, let alone some light competitions.
The participating 15 students of Ajman University were so excited to work with the 20 determined children of Al Wafa School and learn more about them.
Amina Yasser Lahham, a volunteer student, College of Business Administration, said the function was beyond her expectation.
