While Covid-19 pandemic has swept the entire globe, media experts nationwide have virtually met to discuss all relevant challenges.
The remote gathering, assumed by the National Media Council, saw an active participation from Dr. Hossam Salama, Dean, College of Mass Communication at Ajman University (AU).
Also present were deans and reps of media and mass communication colleges in the UAE University, Zayed University, Higher Colleges of Technology, University of Sharjah, American University of Sharjah, Abu Dhabi University, Ajman University, Emirates College of Technology, Al Ain University of Science and Technology, and Manipal Academy.
The experts exchanged mulled over an array of media issues, mainly the challenges facing the media sector and possible opportunities, along with the methodologies needed to support students and empower them after graduation.
They also focused on the role of universities across the country in qualifying young Emirati cadres and providing them with sufficient skills to work in the media field.
They further stressed the importance of continuous communication between the colleges of media and mass communication, and both governmental and private media institutions.
