Emirati national Hamda Abdullah Al Kitbi, a student of psychology at Ajman University (AU), has won the Prevention Ambassador title offered by the Academic Center for Consultancy and Institutional Development.
Hamda’s brilliant community initiative was about providing psychological support to members of the society against Covid-19, particularly as the lethal disease has generated stress throughout the population.
The idea first came to Hamda, who heads the marketing and media team at the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), while she was home busy thinking of an innovative way to give back to the society.
“It sounded good to give psychological support to family members, friends and whoever I can reach so that they can overcome the mental impact of the unprecedented global pandemic,” she said.
Hamda, who is also member of the happiness and positivity team, DHA, provided all possible, scientific and simplified facts about the pandemic to visitors of the Covid-19 Screening Centre she heads at Al Nasr Club, Dubai.
“The tips and pieces of advice I shared with those people were very helpful and made them happier, less stressful, and more positive and optimistic.”
