Aligned with the role of Ajman University in highlighting the key economic, social, legal and sporting issues, the College of Law held a seminar to address an imperative issue related to the athletes. This awareness session was held in cooperation with the UAE Football Association. It was titled, “Players' Intermediaries Contracts in the Light of the Regulations’ Amendments of FIFA and the UAE Football Association”.
The seminar was attended by professors, judges, lawyers, legal consultants, and students from different universities, dealing with three axis. The first entity was covered by Dr. Nasr Abu Al-Fotouh, assistant professor at the College of Law at Ajman University. The second was covered by Mr. Shadi Medhat who represented the UAE Football Association and Dr. Ahmed Sulaiman, Director of Department of Legal Affairs at Dubai Health Authority, and member of UAE Football Association Jury, represented the third and crucial element of the axis. Together they shed light on the issues pertaining to the contracts of the athletes. Sports industry is gaining momentum in the UAE and with its evolution a legal structure must be in place to support the sportsmen, therefore this session raised and addressed all the concerns with regards to the legal contracts abiding the players.
