The Office of Career & Placement Services at Ajman University conducted a vocational workshops for alumni and graduating students. These come in line with the University commitment of ensuring students ease into their professional life upon graduation.
The workshop was entitled “problem solving and decision making skills” presented by the Dr. Mohd Elmagzoub Eltahir, from the College of Education and Basic Sciences. The workshop aimed at providing the trainees with the key skills set to get handle the psychological, social and economic pressures by providing them with problem solving skills and improve their abilities in finding solutions in order to achieve internal and external balance to achieve success in the family and career life.
Participants were able to practice the problem-solving process by working on actual problems in their workplace. The focus in the workshop was on group problem solving and decision-making, but participants will be able to apply the same processes and tools to individual problems and decisions as well.
30 trainees attended the workshops and expressed their pleasure at being able to attend a hand on approach to their next step in life. They looked forward to applying the newly acquired skills to their work.
It is worth mentioning that the Career and Placement Services Office aims to educate students and graduates and help them identify, plan and achieve their career goals in order to enable them to integrate into the society and attain a leading position in the labor market. It also conducts follow-up and training programs carried out by trained faculty members and experts from outside the University who possess experience and expertise of the professional world.
