Ahmed Hisham Khattab, a faculty member at the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Ajman University, won the first place in the "Art for Health 2018" competition, film category. His film reflects the story of a person representing a large segment of a society which consume fat-rich meals and calories in general and fast food in particular.
The Art for Health 2018 competition aims to showcase art that raises awareness about the UAE’s major health issues around Diabetes, Obesity and Heart Diseases. Their mission is to engage with the country’s youth, spark ideas, and get conversations going about leading a healthier lifestyle. It was organized by the Ministry of Health and Prevention in Abu Dhabi.
It is worth mentioning that this year's competition focused on three indicators within the national agenda: reducing the rate of obesity among children and adolescents in the 5-17 age group, reducing mortality rates from cardiovascular disease, and reducing the incidence of diabetes in the UAE.
