Students from the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Ajman University won four awards at the 23rd Dubai International Pharmaceutical & Technology Conference & Exhibition - DUPHAT 2018. DUPHAT is a leading pharmaceutical and technology event in the Middle East and North Africa. More than 1000 oral presentations and posters were presented in this event from different Pharmacy Colleges from around the world. Our students won awards for best oral, innovation, quality, thematic and presentation categories. Ajman University was also awarded for its outstanding participation at this international conference.
The first position for “Best Pharmacy Students Poster Award” was bagged by “Smart Pills for Intelligent Lifestyle” delivered by students Amna Al Nuaimi and Latifa Al Khateri, their project was supervised by Ms. Sundos Al Ibrahim and Fatima Boura. “A comparative quality control study of selected brands of fexofenadine hydrochloride tablets marketed in UAE and India” was submitted by students Noura M. Fakhry, Abir A. Elwaer, Aya G. Atfeh, Amna A. Aljashany, Sham Zain Alabdin and was supervised by Dr. Akram Ashames and Dr. Richie Bhandare, this project bagged the 7th Best pharmacy student thematic poster award. “Survey of the storage condition of bottled drinking water, supplied to homes, groceries, watchman of the building, in Sharjah and Ajman and the associated health risk involved in drinking the bottled water” won the 7th best pharmacy student oral presentation award by students Jawaher Yaser N. Taha; Jafer Raid Al Shadidi; Eeem Ali Sanara; Jeena Mohammad. Hassoune, this was supervised by Dr. Mohammed Waseem. “E-Prescribing of medicines: benefits, ethics, and barriers” by students Ameena Hytham, Rawan Mohamoud, Sali Daoudi, Sabrin Baligh won the 8th Best Pharmacy student innovative poster award; this was supervised by Dr. Akram Ashames and Dr. Nihal Abdulla.
DUPHAT 2018 was opened with an outstanding participation of Ajman University, on the opening day it was attended by Dr. Abdulhaq Al-Nuaimi, Vice-Chancellor for Communication and Advancement, Professor Nageeb Hassan, Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and a number of faculty and administrative staff and a large number of students of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
The students of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences participated in DUPHAT 2018 with more than thirty research work conducted by the students under the supervision of their faculty.
