Ajman University College of Law organized an educational visit for the college students to the headquarters of Dubai Airport Cargo Village at Dubai International Airport. The students tour started with visits to the shipping village, including the customer service department, the sales department, the food and drug control department, and the screening and checking section.
The students were then briefed on the work of the regular cargo, refrigerated cargo departments and the shipping department. They listened to a detailed explanation by Mr. Mohamed Siddiq, the controller of the shipping network, about the shipment of drugs and the strict control over them, which indicated that the freight forwarding department consists of 7 floors operating electronically and faster than the competing shipping villages inside and outside the country, confirming that the capacity of the village is 2.5 million Ton, and that shipments are done very quickly. Within only 6 hours, the container can be cleared and transported from the quay at Port Rashid or Jebel Ali Port to where the planes are parked for loading.
The students concluded their tour with a visit to a special department for the shipment of animals, which can accommodate up to 5,000 animals of any size. Through the visit, the students were able to learn about the high efficiency of the shipping village and the importance of respecting the security procedures and maintaining all the quality standards in all the services provided by them.
The students thanked all employees of the Dubai Airport Cargo Village. It is worth mentioning the visit comes within the framework of the activities organized by the College to link the cooperation between Ajman University and Emirates Airline on one hand, and enrich the students' practical information and connect the theoretical aspect of the law to the practical aspect on the other hand.
