Three faculty members from the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Ajman University attended a two-day workshop on Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) in pharmacy teaching and learning. The delegation included Dr. Muaed Al Omar, Dr. Sanah Hasan, and Dr. Elshaimaa Arafa. The OSCE-ology workshop is an internationally acclaimed OSCE development program, it was delivered by Canadian faculty, Prof. Zubin Austin, with extensive and unique expertise in the design, development and implementation of performance-based teaching and testing techniques.
In the workshop, participants worked collaboratively, shared material developed during the workshop, and engaged in a process of case writing, case reviewing, standard setting, OSCE station scoring and finally, OSCE set up.
The workshop was held at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Sharjah. The workshop aims to lead to a meaningful and fruitful inter-college collaboration in case building and OSCE assessments in the future.
