The Office of Student Life at the Deanship of Student Affairs at Ajman University organized the student council elections for the year 2018-2019. The council consists of 15 members from the male student council and 15 members from the female student council. The nomination and election processes were conducted according to the regulations adopted by the Ministry of Education in the UAE.
The Deanship of Student Affairs was keen to create the conditions for conducting the election and nomination process in a correct, fair and accessible manner. It allowed the organization to advertise campaigns for candidates among university students. The voting process was conducted electronically through the university website.
In its first meeting, the student council elected the administrative board and the tasks were distributed to its members which were as follows:
Male Student Council: Hamad Suhail Al Ghafli - President, Mubarak Salem Al Ameri - Vice President, Ahmed Al Qadri - Executive Assistant, Khalid Al Saadi - Treasurer, Adham Ahmed Hilmi - Coordinator of Activities, and Anas Akram -Media Coordinator. The Council members consist of: Omar Hafez, Bilal Maher, Ali Faraj, Mohamed Amin Nour, Mustafa Muayad, Saleh Abdul Aziz, Youssef Osman, and Mohamed Mubarak Al-Junaibi.
As for the Female Student Council: Iman Ahmed Khalaf - President, Maryam Khalid Ibrahim - Vice President, Maryam Ahmed Al-Houti - Executive Assistant, Padia Sultan - Treasurer, Fatima Al-Zahra Sayed - Coordinator of Activities and Riyam Osama as Media Coordinator. The Female Council members consist of: Sama Al-Azzawi, Samad Mofid Hnawi, Asma Alami, Lama Selim, Maya Emad Yassin, Safa Mohammed Qanbar, Faten Youssef, Saba Khalifa, and Raim Alaa Eddin Sobeih.
Dr. Nahla Al Qassimi, Dean of Student Affairs, congratulated the winners of the Student Council and called on them to be the best representatives of the university students, pointing out that the Student Council is the highest student leadership body in the university and responsible for providing the best services to the students who represent them.
