In celebration of the International Day of Older Persons, AU Mobile Dental Clinic launched its first trip to the Elderly Nursing Home in the Emirate of Ajman, to provide dental services to its guests namely dental examination and diagnosis.
The team of dentists from the College of Dentistry at Ajman University were able to provide services to more than 20 elderly persons. This initiative builds on the University's leadership role and reinforces its responsibilities towards the community.
The clinic was launched in the Emirate of Ajman last May with the aim of providing free medical services to the elderly, and to reach residents of remote areas to provide them with diagnostic and therapeutic services. In addition to providing diagnostic and therapeutic services to school students aligned within an agreed plan with educational and health sectors.
The mobile clinic has two dental clinics equipped with the latest equipment, an X-ray machine and a sterilization device, all of which are in line with international standards. A wheelchair is accessible for those with disabilities, which enables them to access the clinic and benefit from the diagnosis and treatment provided by the clinic.
Al Ajamani Charity Foundation, funded the project in cooperation with Human Appeal International, meanwhile Industrial Scientific Company is the manufacturer of the clinic.
